Who causes food toxins in our food supply ?
Humans are to blame for causing toxins to enter our food supply. The problem of toxins in our food supply is growing. Public awareness must be raise, action must be taken. A wide variety of chemical toxins are created that go into the ecosystem and bodies daily.
Problems:
Biological Magnification : Mercury
Finds its way into the ocean from human industrial activity later contaminating the fish where it will further enter the bodies of the humans that consume them. |
Soil Toxins
Solid or liquid substances mix with the soil and later contaminate crops. Toxins can enter soil through industrial leaks and spills and water-transported contaminants. |
Pesticides and Herbicides
They are used for positive things such as getting rid of weeds, pests, and preventing the spread of bacteria. They also lead to runoff into our water. |
Antibodies
Antibodies are injected into cows to keep them from becoming sick due to eating corn (Bt) in which they are not used to eating. Cows are usually grown to eat grass, but since corn is cheaper cows are now forced to eat corn which disrupts their digestive system. |
Growth Hormones
They are injected into livestock to make them grow bigger so more food can be made. |
